Artist bio:
A child prodigy, Ivan Jenson earned international acclaim when at age nine he produced his first sculpture that was used as a poster for the Museo Nacional de Costa Rica.

At 15 he was drawn to the epicenter of the art world, New York City, where he began successfully creating and selling his bold, colorful paintings on the streets of SoHo and earned immediate praise and recognition from art critics and the public. Spotted sketching on cocktail napkins by Malcolm Forbes, founder of Forbes Magazine, he was invited to paint portraits of corporate guests aboard the famous "Highlander" yacht.

Absolut Vodka commissioned Ivan to paint an original "Absolut Jenson" painting for it's national advertising campaign which was featured in Art News and Art in America. This honor had Jenson joining the ranks of other famous artists such as Andy Warhol. Jenson's paintings have sold at Christie's Auction House.

Ivan Jenson lives and paints in Grand Rapids, MI and has published poetry internationally.

Artist statement:
Ever since I was a young boy I have painted, sculpted and written poetry. In school my teacher allowed me to spend recess studying art books about Picasso. Art has been my first love, my obsession and my life ever since. When I ventured to New York with my art on a whim, I was suprised by the immediate positive response by the public and have been nonstop ever since. I came to live in Grand Rapids to rediscover my artistic roots. My artistic vision is about form, blazing colors and humanity.
